Emily's Approach

You be you, I'll do the rest

Love and family are at the heart of my work. I’m so inspired by couples, families and their connections.

Your memories are valuable, so capturing the moments that will live forever in the book on your coffee table is the most rewarding feeling. My goal is to create timeless and authentic photos that will be a part of your family’s story for a lifetime.

Wedding days are full of excitement and chaos.

Years of experience photographing weddings have taught me how to anticipate the moments that make beautiful candid photographs. For the portions of the wedding day that require a bit more direction, I believe in capturing you in beautiful light and creating compositions to enhance the moments that will organically unfold. Every couple is unique, and some prefer a little more guidance during their couple’s portraits. I’m happy to lead with additional direction to keep your experience carefree and enjoyable.

The Most commonly Asked Wedding Photography questions

Answer:

Question:

I don't quote a specific number of photographs for any wedding. You can typically expect between 500-700 for full wedding coverage.

How many photos will i receive?

Answer:

Question:

I am based in Charleston, South Carolina and am available for travel worldwide.

Where are you based? are you available for travel?

Answer:

Question:

Quite possibly. I use a second photographer often when I am not able to be in two places at once or if I feel I cannot capture the day based on restrictive elements like venue size or tighter timeframes. When we discuss your wedding expectations, I will happily advise you on this based off of your unique situation.

Do we need a second photographer?

Question:

Answer:

Do you suggest a first look on your wedding day?

I suggest you do what feels good to YOU! First looks are a perfect opportunity for couples looking to have that intimate moment prior to the ceremony. Some couples prefer the tradition of a surprise at the aisle. —That's wonderful too! I do suggest for all couples to reserve at least 25 minutes for couple photos. It's the best way to get beautiful photographs while having a moment to slow down and enjoy each other during the beautiful chaos of the day. I'm happy to advise you on this based on optimal light and location so that you can easily add it to your timeline.

Question:

Answer:

Do you take formal family portraits after the ceremony?

Yes, I do take family photographs based on a specific list you will prepare prior to the day. I try and efficiently photograph these groupings so that you can get back to enjoying your day as quick as possible.

Question:

Answer:

What about a shot list?

I am going to capture it all in a way that is unique to you specifically. Other than your formal shot list for family and group shots you need not worry about a thing.
