This 128 South Wedding in Wilmington, NC holds a special place in my heart for many reasons. I grew up going to church with Hannah since we were very young. When she asked me to shoot her wedding I was thrilled. I was even more excited when I found out they were getting married in Wilmington, NC and having their reception at 128 South. Travis and I had our wedding and reception there (insert Hurricane Sandy and a no-go Wrightsville wedding). It ended up being more perfect than we even planned. The staff at is pretty much top notch. At Hannah and Tyler’s wedding I found the exact same to be true. Hannah planned the day perfectly beginning with getting ready and a first look at The City Club at de Rosset and then their ceremony at Kenan Chapel in Landfall. We then took a trolley ride downtown to celebrate the “I do’s” the rest of the evening with drinks, dinner and lots of dancing on the deck under the warm glow of italian wedding lights. The venue was dripping with details. Beautiful lanterns, adorable signs, monogrammed pillows and peonies galore. I absolutely love getting the chance to shoot back “home” in Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach. My favorite shot from this wedding probably has to be the black and white image of Hannah and Tyler leaning into one another during the blessing upstairs at the reception. Hannah’s family experienced the loss of her precious Grandfather the evening prior to the wedding. I was so inspired by their grace and strength throughout the day. I think that particular image is such a sweet reminder that marriage is having someone to lean on always. Enjoy the photos and Congratulations to such a lovely couple.
