I actually took a few minutes today to edit some personal photos of Gray. I’m gearing up for my biggest wedding season yet and enjoying the calm before the storm. Taking time to document Gray’s first year is one of my favorite things to do, though often gets put on the back burner. I think these are probably my favorite portraits of him yet. No frills, just simply capturing how expressive and joyful he is right now. These were taken just a couple of weeks ago on our bed when he was home sick. You would certainly never know it from his sweet smiles. Biscuit of course had to join in on the action (so much FOMO).

I’m happy to share this Charleston Brunch wedding on the blog this afternoon. Robin and Erich were married at the most beautiful Old St. Andrews Church in Charleston, South Carolina. I absolutely adore this little church and I’m so glad I got a chance to photograph here. Amanda & Becky of Southern Chic weddings coordinated the day. This was my second opportunity to photograph a daytime brunch wedding and I have to say I am a huge fan. I adored Robin’s classic gown that was really perfect for the morning ceremony and the vintage inspired little jacket that she wore at the reception. After the ceremony at the church guests headed down to East Bay Street in downtown Charleston for a gorgeous brunch complete with mimosas, bloody marys and amazing views of the harbor. The weather was so cheerful and bright for January that the couple decided to depart via boat for a little afternoon time on the water. Gotta love Charleston! I really enjoyed getting the opportunity to spend the day documenting such a sweet couple and their amazing families.

A cozy little Kiawah Island engagement session for this cold January Monday. I freakin love this shoot. Chelsea and Brad are getting married this coming November at Alhambra Hall in Mount Pleasant. We had access to the most amazing private home out on Kiawah for this shoot. They were able to bring their dogs and we kind of just played for 2 hours. The sun set beautifully out on the dock and we took advantage of the gorgeous light and water views. Chelsea and Brad were so much fun to shoot because I swear all they do is cuddle and laugh with eachother. That makes it pretty simple! enjoy the shoot
Yesterday I posted Caroline and Mike’s beautiful wedding at Magnolia Plantation and today I wanted to share her lovely Charlestowne Landing bridal portraits! She is stunning and was such a graceful subject to photograph. I love shooting at Charlestown Landing with loads of gorgeous low country goodness. The dripping spanish moss, enchanting paths, beautiful flowers and of course Legare Waring House. I love the white camellias that created such a soft feminine backdrop for a few of the shots. We were lucky that the sun decided to peek out at the end of the session as we shot under the beautiful canopy of live oaks. These portraits were so much fun to sort through and edit. Bridal portraits are definitely one of my favorite things to photograph. Enjoy!

Here are a few of my favorite shots from Megan’s maternity session. Little miss Libby Sloane is going to be here before we know it. I’m so glad I was able to make a few beautiful yet simple maternity portraits for Megan and Steven (and of course Finley the cutest pup around). Can’t wait to celebrate when baby H arrives in December!
I love these shots from Lauren and Corey’s Charleston engagement session! Lauren opted for a more formal look and the result is really classic and beautiful. She wanted a more elegant and classic look for their portraits. Their attire definitely lent itself to some crisp black and white images as well. We chose to begin our session in Washington Square Park and then walk along the cobblestone streets down to the French Quarter. We were lucky to have such a gorgeous fall day and a little bit of autumn color changing in the leaves on Church Street. This area of downtown Charleston is one of my favorites to shoot in because I think it lends itself to a very classicly Charleston vibe. We tend to shoot down by the battery and Rainbow row so much that it’s refreshing to get to select different beautiful areas for sessions! These two were staying at the Mills House for the weekend so they were able to just walk right over. Lauren and Corey are so sweet and I can’t wait to shoot their Lowndes Grove wedding next spring. These two are high school sweethearts, how cute is that!?
Check out Kasey and Colie’s Citadel Beach House wedding from this past spring! I am still catching on blog posts since maternity leave and excited to finally share this gorgeous wedding. Kala of Mod Events did such a wonderful job with the design and coordination from this wedding. I just love the way the flowers were so delicately arranged in varying glass bottles and the coral and blush color scheme. Colie is a Citadel alumni and the couple were married at Sumerall Chapel on campus. They had a gospel choir sing as they walked through the traditional sword arch for such an epic grand exit as husband and wife! Then we headed over to the Citadel Beach House and out to the beach for some really dreamy portraits as the sun was starting to go down. These are definitely some of my favorite shots of the day. My amazing second shooter Cheyenne helped me to capture all the special details of this day!
I was so excited to get to see Reagan and Teddy again this year and take their Folly Beach family photos!! These two little cuties never disappoint. You can see how they have grown since our session last year here. We decided to head out to the edge of Folly this year and check out the light house to keep the twins entertained. l’m a sucker for the beautiful golden light at the point against the blues and greens of island. Enjoy the photos!
